Mission

To provide transitional residential services for the prevention and treatment of alcoholism and other drug-related addictions for the Native American population residing within the Southwest Oklahoma service area.

Service Area

Includes, but is not limited to, Southwest Oklahoma. Preference is given to Comanche Tribal members.

Program Overview

New Pathways began service in June, 1990. The halfway house was located at the Ft. Sill Indian School until May, 2018 a new building was built for New Pathways on the Comanche Tribal Grounds.

New Pathways is the only Native American halfway house in the Southwest Indian Health Service region.

New Pathways is a 90-day, non-medical, transitional living facility for Native Americans who have completed a chemical dependency in-patient Primary Residential Treatment for drugs and alcohol.

New Pathways is the intermediate step between treatment and independent living. Individuals practice improved living skills acquired in Primary Residential Treatment (PRT) while receiving positive feedback and emotional support from fellow residents and Addiction Treatment Specialist.

Application for Service

Potential resident makes initial contact from treatment by phone or email, requesting for an application for services. Upon request and if proper documentation is provided for review, eligibility will be determined and placement will be made directly from treatment (door to door).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Provide a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)
  • Provide a Certificate from an In-Patient Primary Residential Treatment
  • Willing to commit to 90 days of residential supervision
  • Willing and physically able to work in order to become self-sufficient
  • Willing to actively participate in all aspects of his/her Recovery

The main objective of New Pathways is to provide a high quality of care for individuals who are willing to maintain their sobriety, obtain employment and housing before they complete their stay. New Pathways is design to promote wellness in a safe modernly structured environment.
