Services Provided:

  • Burial Assistance
    • Currently, the maximum assistance provided is up to $10,000.00 to the funeral home chosen by the family.
    • Payment will be for the interment charges, including professional services, casket, headstone/tombstone, flowers, newspaper obituary, burial plot, minister's donations, vault, cremation, cemetery plot, transportation fees for the deceased, outer burial container, additional receptacles, or packages of proceeding items.
    • If the family chooses to cremate the deceased, funding will be up to $5,000.00, due to the difference in costs of services.
    • The services provided are optional and are decided upon by the family.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The deceased must be an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation
    • Proof of Enrollment is required, such as a Tribal Enrollment Letter from the Comanche Nation Enrollment Department, verifying enrollment.
  • Burial Assistance may be provided in cases where a newborn or infant dies before they are enrolled with the Comanche Nation, provided that the deceased was eligible for enrollment.
    • Amount of assistance will be up to $5,000.00 for an infant/newborn.
  • Burial Assistance will not reimburse the immediate family member if the burial costs have been paid in full by the family or if a burial policy is expected to cover all burial expenses.
  • Service Application (Must not exceed 30 days from date of death)
  • CDIB or Tribal Enrollment Letter of Deceased
  • Statement of funeral goods and services
  • Invoice with the signature of the Next of Kin
