Mission

The mission of Injury Prevention is to prevent and reduce injuries through research, community outreach, and ongoing education by providing the necessary training and proper equipment and following regulatory protocols. Injury Prevention is the ability to manage stress and minimize the impact of physical and mental injuries, that is applied to our tribal government to safeguard our tribal employees and tribal members by establishing safety within the workplace, providing a safe work environment to carry out duties and services, and to protect tribal members from any result of injury.

Services

Injury Prevention provides to tribal members:

• Car seat distribution & classes  
• Smoke detectors  
• Fire extinguishers 
• Carbon monoxide detectors
• Bicycle Helmets – Available only at certain events and distributed freely to the public
• Elder workshops  
• Annual pre-prom car crash simulation
• Fan Program (Summer time service only - May to August)
