Alumni Association & Activities

The “New Pathways’ Alumni Association” was created in 2002 and consists of former clients of New Pathways and continues to grow over the years. The Alumni Association has formed many annual events and activities throughout the years such as:

An Annual “Alumni Reunion” is held in June with a meal, an AA speaker, event t-shirt, quarterly awards and a chip call for continuous sobriety. Client of the Quarter Awards are announced.

The “Four Winds Wellbriety Group” was formed with Certified Facilitators in 2002 and the 1st registered treatment center in Oklahoma, with the White Bison Wellbriety Movement. Weekly meetings are held onsite at New Pathways every Monday @ 530 pm. Wellbriety® is a cultural approach to recovery from alcoholism, substance abuse, and intergenerational trauma through the values taught in the 12 Steps and Medicine Wheel.

An annual “Four Winds Wellbriety Talking Circle” was created in 2003, and held in September with a meal and an event t-shirt. A Talking Circle is a traditional and effective way to seek healing that nurtures connections and empathy while honoring the uniqueness of each participant.

An Annual “Oklahoma Wellbriety Summer Gathering” hosted by Four Winds Wellbriety Group was created in 2020, held in June at Lake Lawtonka, in Lawton, OK. The gathering consists of Wellbriety® groups throughout SW Oklahoma.

The Alumni Association created “Spirit Winds AA” on 7·7·7 and the group is registered with the (Area 57-District 80) General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous®. A communication and service hub for the U.S. and Canada. An Annual Celebration is held in July, with a guest speaker, meal and t-shirts. Weekly AA meetings are held onsite every Wednesday @ 5:30 pm and a Speaker/Pot luck meeting is held the last week of the month.

Members of the Spirit Winds AA group and other AA members abroad created the “All Nations Rally” in 2009. A self-supporting rally. All Nations AA Rally is held in November at Quartz Mountain Lodge in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.

New Pathways sponsors the “Annual Spirit Walk” which is held on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. of the Annual Comanche Nation Fair. The walk is an organized effort to honor those “fighting the good fight” by walking the Red Road in sobriety.
