Mission
The purpose of the Comanche Nation Vocational Rehabilitation (CNVR) Program is to achieve a respectable and effective service delivery system for American Indians with disabilities, with an emphasis on the delivery of Vocational Rehabilitation services to American Indians who have problems with alcohol or substance dependency, diabetes, physical, learning, and/or mental disabilities. Developing effective linkages between community based, state, tribal and federal service providers i.e.…Department of Human Services, Department of Rehabilitation Services, Social Security (SSI-SSDI), Tribal Social Services, County Sheltered Workshops, WIOA and other American Indian Service agencies that will result in increased Vocational training and gainful employment for American Indians with disabilities in a nine county area in Oklahoma, i.e.…Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Stephens, and Tillman Counties.
The primary focus of the Comanche Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program is competitive, integrated employment. The participant must be actively engaged in the process of securing employment through the VR Program.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Comanche Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program, the following requirements must be met:
- The participant must be a citizen enrolled in a federally recognized tribe.
- The participant must have a medically documented physical, cognitive, or mental disability, which includes a 504 plan or IEP in high school.
- The participant's impairment must constitute or result in a substantial impediment or barrier to employment.
- The participant can benefit from VR services, which will lead to gainful employment.
- The participant requires VR services to prepare to enter, maintain, or retain high-quality employment, thereby increasing self-sufficiency.
- The participant must reside within the service area of the Comanche Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program, which includes Comanche, Caddo, Grady, Kiowa, Stephens, Jefferson, Cotton, Tillman, Jackson, and Washita counties.
Services
Vocational Rehabilitation provides the following services to help consumers become employed, enhance their employment, or regain employment. Each Individualized Plan of Employment (IPE) is tailored to the individual consumer and may not encompass all the following services. Services are based on available funds.

- Guidance
- Evaluation
- Education/Training
- Education/Training fees and tuition
- Employment assistance
- Transportation
- Clothing
- Community training
- Disability awareness events
