Senior Spotlight: Tristan Locklear

Indiahoma Warrior Tristan Locklear plays center and power forward on the basketball team.

“I kind of just grew up with it…my family and my friends always played it and watched it, so I just kind of always loved it and enjoyed playing it,” he said.

Locklear also runs track. He has competed in esports for a couple of years, and Locklear’s game of choice is Rainbow Six Siege.

“Definitely the community…being able to hang out with my friends and my coach and playing video games and laughing and joking around with them,” he said.

Locklear will miss the Indiahoma High School and said his highlight was excelling in basketball.

“It's like a smaller school…I know pretty much everyone, and everyone's like really nice,” he said. “So, it's…really great being able to know everyone and like everyone being really nice.”

Locklear plans to play basketball at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma.

“A couple of my friends are going over there, and it's pretty close, so I think it's a really great fit for me to go play,” he said.

Locklear goes to powwows and enjoys learning about his native culture.

“I definitely like [learning] about my ancestors and my past, and…just learning about what they've been through and like how it was back then,” he said. “It's really cool.”
