Oklahoma City Blue Halftime Show Features Youth Dancers
Dominique Komahcheet, a gourd and straight dancer for Comanche Nation Youth Dancers, was a part of their Oklahoma City Blue halftime show on Tuesday, February 10.
“It felt great to represent the Comanche Nation Tribe and the Comanche Nation Youth Dancers,” he said. “And to spread my culture with all the people that were there.”
Komahcheet said dancing and watching the game are his favorite parts of the trip.
“I started the youth dancers to learn my culture and then to learn about other dances,” he said. “When to start, when to stop to get better.”
As for Komahcheet’s favorite part about being in the youth dancers…
“We have meetings every Wednesday at six o’clock, we go over there and dance, sing and then just do cultural stuff,” he said.
Komahcheet wanted to thank Teresa Lopez for helping out the youth.
He is also the Elgin JOM Brave.
