Comanche County Tournament First, Second Place Teams Compete

Comanche County Basketball Tournament continued on Saturday, January 31, at Great Plains Coliseum.

Walters Lady Blue Devils and Chattanooga Lady Warriors began the battle of first place with a tied first quarter of 11 to 11.

Blue Devil JT Aguilera would get her name on the board in the second quarter, which would end Chattanooga 25 to Walters 21.

Lady Warrior Maddie Koweno would provide two assists, and Rheyana Matlock would guard goal.

Aguilera would make a three-pointer in the middle of the fourth quarter, and the game would end Chattanooga 50 to Walters 44.

Chattanooga Warriors and Big Pasture Rangers would finish the night with a first-quarter score of Big Pasture 11 to Chattanooga 8.

Warrior Owyn McCoin would get a layup finishing the second quarter, Chattanooga 23 to Big Pasture 15.

In the third, Evan Wauqua would sink two threes, Chattanooga leading 40 to 19.

In the fourth, McCoin would get a layup and the game would end Warriors 51 to Rangers 31.

Chattanooga took home both boys’ and girls’ first place, while Walters Lady Blue Devils and Big Pasture Rangers took home second.

Comanche County Tournaments will continue at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, at Chattanooga High School.
