Hiring Preference

The Comanche Indian Tribe; (a) will not discriminate against any employee or candidate for employment because of sex, age, race, creed, color or national origin; and (b) will take affirmative action to insure that candidates are employed without regard to their race, creed or national origin, except when required by specific program guidelines.

When a job vacancies occur, the Comanche Tribe will first attempt to fill job vacancies with tribal members. If tribal members cannot be recruited, recruitment will be directed toward a member of other Federally recognized tribe. If that fails, a non-Indian may be recruited. In each of the above situations, the tribe will select from those candidates who meet the specified qualifications.

Candidates who are claiming Indian Preference* must submit a copy of Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood, verified by their retrospective tribal leader or the superintendent of the agency having jurisdiction over their tribe.

NOTE: *Enrolled members of the Comanche Tribe must identify their enrollment number.
