"For those who have fought for it, life has a special flavor the protected will never know" -Anonymous
"This year will begin my 40th year as a master of ceremonies. Throughout my
pow-wow career, I have always acknowledged the veterans and the many color guards that represent many different tribes and organizations. We, Comanche, are no different, for it has always been said that “We are a warrior Tribe.” Our ancestors made a reputation for themselves that carries on today as: “The Lords
of the Plains.”
The Comanche Code Talkers carried on the legacy of warriors, by being in the front lines during the Normandy invasion in World War II. Our Vietnam veterans took leadership roles as point men during their tour of duty in Vietnam. Our Desert Storm veterans played a major role during this campaign and a special Comanche song, composed by Berkley Monoessy, commemorates the Desert Storm veterans. One of these days, special recognition will be bestowed on our veterans who participated in Afghanistan and Iraq. So it is with this introduction that I welcome you to the Comanche Veteran web page. Thank you and may God bless you all."

Wallace Coffey,
Chairman of Comanche Nation of Oklahoma
This page is dedicated to those Comanche warriors who served our country.
