Comanche Nation Transit SystemsIt is our policy of the Comanche Nation Transit to provide services to the community. Our objective is to provide assistance for our passengers in a prompt, courteous fashion without discriminating against race, color, physical handicap or disability and national origin. We provide services to work, vocational school, college, medical appointments, grocery shopping, pay bills, appointment for dialysis patients etc. The Comanche Nation Transit has eight buses serving over 28,000 annually. The communities we serve are: Lawton, Apache, Elgin, Cyril, Fletcher, and Cache. Transit Total Passengers, Total Mileage, Total Fuel Usage (Jan - Dec 2009)Transit Hours of OperationMonday - Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Holiday ScheduleThe Comanche Nation Transit does not operate on weekends or the following holidays: New Year's Day, Comanche Constitution Day, President's day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Comanche Chief's Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. How to Schedule A RideThe Comanche Nation Transit makes designated stops and arranges "pick up points" according to the schedule. If you need to schedule a ride for Monday - Friday, you can contact the dispatcher and tell them your name, address, phone number, schedule pick up time, and your destination. The dispatcher will call the next available Transit Driver to pick you up. When your schedule is approved, it is your responsibility to inform the Transit office the day you will not be riding the bus. You cannot continue our services if you have (3) no shows according to the days you were scheduled to ride. The Comanche Nation Transit has a two (2) minute waiting period upon arrival at your pick up site. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Dialysis Bus (wheelchair)Wheelchair passengers should allow the driver plenty of room to deploy the ramp, upon boarding (ramp extends approximately 3 feet from the bus). Drivers will assist wheelchair passengers unless a family member is assisting the individual. Drivers will assist wheelchair passengers into the vehicle and secure them once they have boarded. When you have reached your destination, the driver will assist you out of the vehicle. When boarding the Comanche Nation Transit, present your fare to the Transit driver or show your bus fare ticked to the driver so it can be validated. You must pay before you enter the transit, otherwise the bus will not leave. Bus fares are per stop / per personAdults 13-61 Years Old Seniors 62 Years & Up Persons With Disabilities *Children 6-12 Years Old *Children 5 Years & Under *NOTE: Children 12 years of age or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Rules of Conduct1. Pay as you enter. Bus will not leave until fare is paid for.
2. With exception to the Bus Driver, NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED ON THE BUS. Food and beverages may be transported only if in a sealed container. 3. Comanche Nation Transit can refuse bus service to anyone at the driver's discretion. 4. store boxes and large items under your seat. Keep the aisles clear. 5. Keep the seats next to you clear of your belongings so other passengers may be seated. 6. Profanity, vulgar language, and disorderly conduct are not allowed. 7. Smoking and/or alcoholic beverages on the Transit Bus is strictly prohibited. 8. The program is not responsible for personal items left on the bus. |
