Student Services ProgramThe Student Services K-12 program's goal is to assist Comanche Tribal children in grades K-12 to help meet the basic back to school need without prejudice towards the student or the families seeking assistance; as well, to assist without complaint or unpleasant behavior. Accepting applications on July 19, 2010 for the 2010/2011Comanche Nation Student Services K-12 Program will begin accepting applications on July 19, 2010 for the 2010/2011 school year; application deadline for the school year is August 27, 2010. Guidelines are as follows: Comanche Nation Student Services K-12 Program is to help meet the basic school needs of enrolled Comanche Tribal children in grades K-12. Parent/guardian must complete an application for each student. Failure to have proper documents and CDIB’s will result in delay of services. Student Services K-12 Program will begin taking applications for each new school year the third Monday of July of each year. Deadline for application is the last Friday of August each of each year. The following must be submitted: Students in grades K-11 will receive a shopping card valued at $100, to be used for the purchase of clothing and/or school supplies only. Receipts must be returned to Comanche Nation Student Services K-12 Program. Failure to comply will result in ineligibility of program. Staff of K-12 Program will review receipts to make sure clientele are following guidelines. Deadline for receipts to return is December 31st. High school seniors will receive assistance for senior orders (cap/gown; announcements; etc.) or shopping cards. Parent/guardian is responsible for deposits on senior orders. All payments on senior orders are made to the vendor. Student Services K-12 Program does not give reimbursements on senior orders. Applications and School Form Letter are available in the program office which is located in the Administrative Building in room 114; www.comanchenation.com/students and at both Comanche Nation Outreach Centers located in Anadarko and Oklahoma City. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please contact the Student Services K-12 Program at 580-492-3278/3280 for questions pertaining to program. GuidelinesComanche Nation Student Support (CNSS) is designed to help meet the basic school needs of enrolled Comanche Tribal children in grades K-12. Parent/Guardian must complete a Student Services application for the student. All services are available once per fiscal year (year begins October 1 and ends September 30 of following year). CNSS does not assist with the following: Senior rings, Prom, Cheerleading, Sports, Camps, Head Start, Pre-K, GED and Job Corps students; tutoring or outside educational aid. Failure to have proper documents and CDIB’s will result in delay of services. CNSS will begin taking application for each new school year the third Monday of July of each year. Deadline for application is the last Friday of August of each year. Please note, due to the budget cut, services will be on first come first serve basis. As well, if receipts for previous issue is not on file, services will be declined. Senior GraduationHigh School seniors will receive assistance for senior orders (cap and gown, announcements, etc.) or shopping cards. Each senior is allowed $200. Parent/guardian is responsible for deposits on all senior orders. All payments on senior orders are made to the vendor. Parent/Guardian must pay deposits. CNSS does not give reimbursements on senior orders. Supplementary FundCNSS also has a Supplementary Fund. The fund will assist with the following: High School (students in grades 11th & 12th) Leadership Conference’s, SAT/ACT/Residual ACT testing and summer school. Students are picked by their educators (via scholastics) to participate in Leadership Conferences held nationwide. Each student will need to submit information from the school and Leadership Conference. Students will receive $300 to help with the conference fees. Students wishing to take the SAT/ACT and Residual ACT tests will need to submit documents regarding fees and testing dates. Students needing summer school should submit documents from the school stating that student needs to attend and the cost. |
