Injury Prevention Program

"Keeping Our Tradition Alive with Injury Prevention"

The Oblective for the Injury Prevention Program is to increase the awareness of safety to the general public through modifications of the environment. This is done through demonstrations, educational awareness, and presentations. We challenge all of these categories to promote behavioral changes and to reduce the injuries caused by unintentional and intentional injuries.

Car Seats

Since Oklahoma's Child Passenger Protection Law because effective in 1983, many people have purchased or borrowed car seats. Surveys show that many parents buy top-rated, federally approved car seats, but misuse them.

Studies how that when children are correctly buckled up they are better behaved, feel more secure, fall asleep sooner and are less likely to be injured in the car.

We offer Occupant Protection Classes every other month. Class is scheduled from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Participants must attend class to receive free car seats.
