It is the BIA and the Comanche Nation's policy that every eligible tribal member should have the opportunity for a decent home and suitable living environment. The Comanche Nation Home Improvement Program works to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness in Indian communities by helping those who fall between the cracks in federal housing assistance obtain decent, safe and healthy housing and living conditions for themselves and their families. GuidelinesHome Improvement also provides assistance through the Emergency Assistance program with funding provided by the Comanche Nation to eligible tribal members, Assistance is for urgent/emergency repairs to home only. Items not allowed are: no carpeting, no ceiling fans, no new central hear and air units, no outside building and sheds, no fencing, no storm shelters, no non-emergency general home redecorating or upgrading, no mutual help homes, Comanche Nation housing units have to be paid-off and no renters of apartments or homes.
