Election Ordinance of 2010
The Comanche Nation Business Committee enacted the Comanche Nation Election Ordinance of 2010 by Resolution Number 32-10 on April 3, 2010.
This ordinance is subject to Bureau approval pursuant to 25 CFR § 11.108. The ordinance as proposed is hereby approved.

The Comanche Nation Election Board sends this Notice of Election to ensure that all eligible voters receive an opportunity to vote
in the upcoming General Election scheduled for May 14, 2011.
The Comanche Nation Election Board, as a subordinate body under the direction of the Comanche Nation Business Committee, shall conduct all general and special elections. The Election Board will insure the right to vote for all eligible Comanche Nation voters, in accordance with the Comanche Nation constitution and its ordinance.
The Comanche Nation Election Board is to ensure that all eligible voters receive an opportunity to vote in the upcoming General Election scheduled for May 14th, 2011.
Prior to the Election, a General Council Meeting will be held April 16, 2011. At the General Council Meeting, nominations will be accepted for candidates for:
* Chairman
* Committeeman No.2
* Committeeman No.3
* Committeeman No.4
* Secretary / Treasurer
* One (1) Election Board Member for each Precinct:

Absentee Voting
If you reside outside the six designated precincts or plan to be out of town on Election Day you have the opportunity to vote by absentee ballot. It is important that you have an updated address with the enrollment office. The Election board will be mailing gout a "Request for Absentee Ballot" form to all eligible voters. Once the election ballots are ready for the upcoming election and the Comanche Nation Election board has received your "Request for Absentee Ballot" form you will be mailed an absentee voter packet. To ensure your ABSENTEE VOTE will be counted you must read all instructions carefully and sign the certification form on the back of the return envelope.

Early "Absentee In-Person" - "Absentee In-Person" voting will be available to all voters wishing to vote EARLY regardless of where they reside. Early "Absentee In-Person" voting will be conducted at the Comanche Nation Complex from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday prior to the primary and run-off elections.
Voting on Election Day
Voters may cast their ballots on Election Day, between the hours of 8AM and 6PM at the polling location of the district in which they reside. Polling locations are:
• Anadarko Precinct - BlA Agency Courtroom
• Apache Precinct - Comanche Community Center
• Cache Precinct - Cahoma Building
• Lawton Precinct - Comanche Nation Complex
• Oklahoma City Precinct - Oklahoma City Outreach, 7390 S. Walker Suite G Oklahoma City
• Walters Precinct - Comanche Community Center

Voting on Election Day
Voters may cast their ballots on Election Day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm at the polling location of the district in which they reside. Polling locations are:

Absentee Voting
If you are not a resident of one of the established polling districts listed above or you are a resident and will be away from your voting district on Election Day, you may vote by Absentee Ballot. To receive an Absentee Ballot, you must complete and return by mail, a Request for Absentee Ballot Form Click Here. Voters may also obtain a Request for Absentee Ballot form at the Comanche Nation Election Board Office at the Comanche Nation Complex bewteen 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday.
Please follow the instructions for completion of the form carefully and include all requested information. You must sign your name and give your full address, including zip code. Voters may only request a ballot for themselves. Request for Absentee Ballot forms must be received by the Election Board by the U.S. Mail. Please return your Request for Absentee Ballot form as soon as possible t allow sufficent time for your ballot to be mailed to you and for its return to the Election Board by Election Day.
Absentee Ballots must be received by mail in the Lawton Post Office no later than 12 noon on Election Day. Absentee Ballots will not be accepted In-Person by the Election Board or at the polls on Election Day.
In-Person Absentee Voting
Eligible voters may cast an Absentee Ballot in person at the Comanche Nation Headquarters on the Friday prior to the election. Polling hours for In-Person Absentee voting are 8am to 5pm. Should a run-off election be required, you will automatically be issued an Absentee Ballot if you requested an Absentee Ballot for the General Election. The Comanche Nation Election Board encourages you to exercise your right to vote!
